How do you race beds?
Consist of five people: four runners and a sleeper (or you can call ’em a “pilot,” if they’re awake). Several informal studies show crazy costumes produce better race times. Recruit your fast friends. Then lie down and point the way.
They’re provided by Bridging AZ, produced by our Baby Formula 1 mechanics especially for racing. And nightly pit stops.
It’s 100 yards one way, then 100 yards back. Enough time for a light nap.
All proceeds go to Bridging AZ Furniture Bank, a nonprofit serving the Valley of the Sun since 2004. Bridging provides new and gently-used furniture to clients of social service and mental health agencies. When they move out of homelessness into apartments, Bridging is there, providing a cost-effective way to furnish their new living spaces, turning them into homes.
Registration for the Great Arizona Bed Race is $100 per team. We ask each team member to fundraise, as well.
Prizes are awarded for creativity, most money raised and fastest time. There’s a People’s Choice Award, based on a public vote, and the Founder’s Award, chosen by Bridging Founders Jim and Donna Piscopo..
